Daekyung is a postdoctoral researcher at ASCII, specializing in complex networks and data analysis across a broad spectrum of systems, including economic, traffic, climate dynamics, synchronization, and biological systems. He is particularly focused on applying a novel gravity model scheme he developed to gain new insights into trade and supply chain networks.
Daekyung obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Sungkyunkwan University in 2021, where he explored the interdisciplinary applications of physics and network science. During his postdoctoral research at the Korean Institute of Energy Technology, he concentrated on power systems synchronization. Following this, at Pukyong National University, he delved into climate dynamics, which broadened his expertise in environmental sciences.
Daekyung aims to elucidate intricate phenomena through simplified models that enhance understanding and provide actionable insights into real-world systems. This ambition drives his current research as he delves deeper into the intricacies of global trade and logistics networks, seeking to uncover patterns and principles that govern these critical systems.
