Sophia Baum

Sophia Baum has been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub since November 2024, working on the ASCII project under the supervision of Peter Klimek. Her research is focused on regional concentration and resilience of supply chains and resilience. She aims to explore the interplay of global trade and production with geopolitical stability.

Sophia completed her Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg and Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Vienna. She first joined CSH to work on her master’s thesis, titled “Interdisciplinary application of ferromagnetic features on supply chain networks,” which explored adaptive shock responses in the global food trade and production network.
